Registration open: Land and Leadership Initiative Retreat, August 10-14.
Great learning and local food. A warm pond and clear cold river for swimming. Deep community of practice. August 10-14, Thetford, Vermont, USA
“Never underestimate the power of gathering and being together in ways that embody the change we are envisioning. I now feel I have a real sense of community, of people all across North America, who are passionate about Nature’s inherent intelligence” —Dr. Katie Ross, Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology Sydney. (May 2025 Retreat Participant.)
Our next Land and Leadership Retreat is August 10-14, at a beautiful house (with a swimming pond) in Thetford, Vermont. We will focus on growing our ability to effectively show and tell the story of the living climate and regeneration in ways that actually engage people and grow culture, consciousness, and capability—including hands-on observations to understand whether land is becoming more or less resilient to flooding, fire, drought, and heat. Spots are very limited. Registration is now open. The cost is $600 which includes most meals, and we do have some financial assistance available. You can let us know you are interested here.
“There seemed to be a palpable sense of recognition of kin, when we all first met, an ease and comfort that is rare when groups gather. And this feeling only continued to strengthen and deepen and nuance over the five days.” —Katie Ross
Our Spring retreat brought together 15 people from various organizations to have deep discussions about leadership in these wild and unpredictable times. We also cooked local food together, explored the watershed from ridge to river, told the stories of how our families arrived on the continent, did somatic work and singing that got us rolling on the floor and laughing, visited farms to test infiltration and look at soil structure, learned about scything and meadowing tools, went to see a musical about Vermont farmers, and worked with living systems frameworks sourced from the Wisdom lineage of the late Carol Sanford.
Read more about the retreat here. If you already know you want to apply, you can let us know you are interested here.
