How do we build parallel systems that end our dependencies on industrial capitalism, and change the paradigms that perpetuate the destruction of living systems?
Wow. Interesting stuff, and a lot to think about. I think one of the pick-up sticks we need to remove is the false, global-averaging, computer-visualized, technology-worshiping climate understanding that is leading us in all the wrong directions. It's a big stick to lift but we're getting there.
Anyhow, I’m glad to meet more of ‘us’; was so happy when I saw the Millán Millán article, savory institute or HMI linked to the resilience missing storms article.
Good stuff! Again I'm reminded of Leah Penniman's framework for black farmers: Resist, Reform, Build Alternatives, Heal. Also appreciate the Bateson allusion to not confusing the map for the territory (the economy for ecology). Having once done org work, I can really appreciate Gillian's perspective and appreciation for detail.
Perhaps it is embracing the positive: The beauty that comes from creating edges where nature flourishes, the pleasure of slow food, the satisfaction of adding just one solar panel at a time to offset a specific load, the pleasure of paying it forward, the pease from honoring an other humble individual.
